Hi! I’m Shari Wasser, and I am a SUPER proud book nerd. Aside from being an avid reader, I am a high school English teacher and a mom to three amazing kids. I have a Master’s degree in English Education from the University of Florida and have been a National Board Certified teacher since 2005. Since I began my career in 1998, I have worked with all levels of learners, from struggling readers to AP students. I have also tutored elementary and middle school children in reading and writing, helping any child of any age find the MAGIC in books. My passion is getting kids EXCITED about reading, where I can combine my own love of literature with my ability to motivate and connect with youth.
I live with my husband, children, and our small rescue dog in our book-filled home in South Florida. I love all creative endeavors, from cooking to crafting. And, of course, I am often found with my nose in a book. I am currently a member of two book clubs with my friends and one book club with my 11-year-old daughter.
I’ve found that my book club groups LOVE the “cooking” projects best. I love creating fun ways to turn snacks into book-related art. The only downside is that I have to label my ingredients “FOR BOOK CLUB,” or else my family will eat my projects before I get to use them!

She’s become a very fast reader, the activities and crafts make each meeting fun. Ms. Shari’s games about the book enhance reading comprehension. She tells me she never wants to quit bookclub. I love it when we finish watching a movie and she says “the book is so much better”, she gets it.”
